Dr. Amber Olsen is a Canadian-born American forensic pathologist currently employed in the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, previously employed at Raccoon Police Department from 1997-1998. Olsen is a known survivor of the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident. Olsen was offered a position in the BSAA in 2004 by Chris Redfield as head of the forensics division, examining the DNA of B.O.W.s and their victims. Olsen was dismissed from her position for a period of time due to false allegations of conspiracy after being suspected of reverse engineering viruses. The allegations were proven false after is was discovered that Olsen was being framed a subordinate.

Biography

Early Life

Olsen was born in Canada, and grew up in America after her parents moved there when she was 2 years old. When Olsen was 8 years old, she was put up for adoption by her parents after being told they never wanted her in the first place. Because of this, she always felt worthless and unlovable. This lead herself to focus only on her career and academics as a means to prove her self worth to herself as well of her parents despite not being in contact with them any longer. This lead her to graduate at the top of her classes when receiving her PhD and getting her first job in her field as a forensic pathologist at RCP.

Raccoon Police Department (1997-1998)

Olsen works in the morgue in the RPD, located in the basement. She spends most of the work day there and rarely talks to others, only leaving her workspace during work hours to run files to S.T.A.R.S. office, or in case of emergency. She also spends time in the break room and outside by the fire escape when she needs a smoke. On rare occasions she will go to the firing range with Chris Redfield to practice her shooting, or to simply spend time with Chris. Olsen is a workaholic, often working overtime and spending the night in the station. It is common to find her asleep in the break room, napping on one of the beds, or even passed out in the morgue. Even during her days off, she will often take her written work home with her to work on. Despite working in a police station, Olsen is not fond of most cops, only having respect for the S.T.A.R.S. agents and other civilians that work at the station with her. She has skills in light firearms, medical and first aid, close combat with and without knives, computers, and sciences.

Personality

Olsen often described as aloof and standoffish. She is often rude to others as a means to push them away. She doesn't often enjoy the company of others with only a few exceptions. She is quiet and doesn't talk much, but she is not afriad to raise her voice if someone pisses her off. Despite her hostility, she is also very inquisitive and determined. She takes joy in what she does for a living and is very enthusiastic behind closed doors. Not many people have seen her smile or have made her laugh. Olsen has a dry sense of humor, and makes smartass remarks often. She is not affectionate, and does not touch others if she can help it. When under stress, she often snaps at people more often, and has the bad habit of making empty threats towards others. She would never hurt someone without reason.

Interests

Olsen enjoys her work. She finds a lot of interest in death and the human body. Apart from her job, Olsen enjoys staying at home and watching horror movies or reading a book. She doesn't like leaving the house unless she has to. She will only leave the house for fun to go to the library. Olsen developed an interest in knives after Chris taught her how to fight with one. She has a small collection of combat knives in her apartment, and often brings one with her to work for self defense. Olsen does not like cooking. If she has to eat, she will either have a snack or get fast food. She believes that cooking is a waste of time. She also does not like to drink coffee, and prefers tea or water. She also enjoys using her personal computer for work and to browse the web.
